Dom Dewalles
Dom Dewalles
Originally from the north of France where she lives and works, Dom has followed several courses dedicated to the knowledge and practice of the Arts, such as learning ancient painting techniques, knowledge of the plastic arts and practical training in engraving. From this plural education, the artist retains a pronounced taste for all areas relating to creation.
In parallel with his pictorial activity, Dom will try his hand at sculpture, illustration as well as the creation of sets for object theater.
Since 2009 she has also been part of an association which brings together several artists, from various fields of activity, around the creation of multidisciplinary shows for young audiences. She will also share her multiple passions with her students during the various courses she teaches in her native region.
Dom's work, worked from milk casein, lime and acrylic paint and mixed techniques combined with a palette of delicately chosen tones, is imbued with great poetry. Sketched with great gentleness, his subjects are generally represented in a state of serenity which can suggest a moment of bliss, well-being or quite simply a suspended moment which would belong to the world of dreams.
Mostly female, Dom's characters are graceful and seem imbued with kindness. So that each spectator can identify and write their own story, the artist deliberately deprived them of eyes. Inhabited by music, theater and poetry, the artist transcribes in her pictorial work all the narrative intensity that she draws from her three disciplines in order to enrich her paintings.
